Kannada Television to Gain a New Hue | COLORS Kannada

After 14 long years of wholesome family entertainment, ETV Kannada is now all set to enthrall viewers in a fresh innings as COLORS Kannada. Reflecting the distinctive culture and traditions of Karnataka through its differentiated content, the brand change goes live on April 26, 2015. This is a part of the recent announcement by one of India’s fastest growing entertainment networks, Viacom18, on expanding its portfolio by rebranding five ETV regional general entertainment channels.

Having created a special place in the hearts of the Kannadiga, COLORS Kannada takes the legacy forward with the new brand philosophy - “Onde Sambandha, Ade Anubandha”. The channel promises a week of high octane entertainment that will culminate into spectacular a celebratory gala on 26th April marking the metamorphosis of this journey.

Elaborating on the same, Ravish Kumar, EVP Viacom18 and Project Head – COLORS Kannada, COLORS Bangla and COLORS Odiya said, “These are exciting times for Kannada television – as we enter this new phase of growth, consumer delight shall continue to be the key driver for COLORS Kannada. We hope to up the ante and continue the surprise viewers in the future too.”

As part of the pre-launch campaign, all the artists associated with the channel will come together in a grand revelation of the COLORS KANNADA logo. Mega episodes of the following shows will be aired through the week before launch day:

•       21th April – Puttagowri Maduve, 7:00-8:00 pm

•       22th April – Lakshmi Baramma, 7:30-8:30 pm

•       23th April – Agnisakshi, 8:00-9:00 pm

•       24th April– Akka, 8:30-9:30 PM

•       25th April– A special slot “Dancing Talkies”, Maja Talkies, 8:00-9:00 PM Dancing Star, 9:00-10:30 PM

•       26th April- Ugramm – Movie Premiere, 2:00 pm

•       26th April- Rebranding Event, 6:00 pm

The celebration will conclude on a high note with a star-studded event where all the members of this channel will gather for a night of spectacular acts and merriment, reveling in the colors of change.
