Kerala government launches its own OTT platform C-SPACE

Kerala has become the first Indian state to have its own OTT platform. Named C-SPACE, the OTT platform was officially announced by the state minister for cultural affairs Saji Cheriyan. He announced the name of the platform on May 18 in a ceremony in Thiruvananthapuram.

Saji Cherian said that the C-SPACE OTT platform set up by the Department of Culture will help in the growth of the Malayalam film industry and ensure better enjoyment for those who love movies.

The OTT platform was prepared by KSFDC under the Department of Culture online. The minister said Kerala was the first state in India to set up such an OTT platform under the government and it would be operational by November 1.

Movies will be available after the theatrical release on this OTT platform, which enables world-class cinema enjoyment. So theater revenue will not be hampered. The producer will receive a fixed amount each time the audience enjoys the film through the OTT platform. Documentaries and short films are also available here. The Minister said that priority would be given to exhibiting films of artistic value and winning state, national and international awards.

The facility to register movies on the OTT platform will be available at the KSFDC Head Office and Chithranjali Studio from June 1. KSFDC Managing Director N Maya, KSFDC Chairman Shaji N Karun and KSFDC Board Member Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri were present on the occasion.
