Ketchum appoints Jim Joseph as global chief marketing and integration officer

Ketchum has appointed Jim Joseph to the newly formed position of global chief marketing and integration officer.

Joseph will start on July 25 and will report to Ketchum President and CEO Mike Doyle. He will also become a member of the agency's executive leadership team.

The post was created in part because of Ketchum's evolution during the last few years.

"We expedited our change in terms of our business model during the pandemic, shifting toward a communications consultancy [approach] and establishing the infrastructure that's necessary to support customers with them at the centre," Doyle said.

Doyle said that Joseph's expertise in client advising across sectors, marketing capabilities, and mentorship qualities made him the ideal candidate.

According to PRWeek's Agency Business Report 2022, Ketchum experienced double-digit top and bottom line growth in 2021, more than any year in the previous decade. In the second quarter of 2022, Omnicom PR Group's revenue increased by 15.8 percent.

In addition to overseeing worldwide marketing and communications, Joseph will collaborate with colleagues from Omnicom PR Group and the Omnicom network to serve clients and develop thought leadership for Ketchum.

"I've always thought that Ketchum was the one to keep an eye on," Joseph remarked. “The client list, the work, the culture and spirit, I want to adopt [them] as core priority and bring them to life even further.”

Joseph most recently served as IPG Health's chief customer solutions officer before joining McCann Health in 2020.

Interpublic Group established a network this week that brings together eight medical communications companies under a single umbrella. AREA 23 on Hudson, Caudex, CMC Affinity, CMC Connect, Complete HealthVizion, Complete Regulatory, ProHealth, and Trio will be housed by IPG Health Medical Communications. None of the specific brands will be phased out.

Joseph also spent eight years with BCW, first at Cohn & Wolfe in several worldwide capacities and subsequently as BCW's global president.

Neera Chaudhary, the firm's previous North America president, just departed Ketchum.
