Kingfisher celebrates M.S Dhoni…The Untold Story

Kingfisher Premium takes forward the ‘Original Social Network’ platform and celebrates the forthcoming biopic- M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story with a historic television commercial. The movie showcases the cricketing legend- M.S. Dhoni’s journey to success, played by Bollywood’s talented star -Sushant Singh Rajput.

In the first of its kind television commercial, M.S.Dhoni and Sushant Singh Rajput are seen sharing screen space to celebrate success, friendship and the real spirit of ‘good times’; creating ‘reel magic’ with their outstanding camaraderie. The TVC is an ode to the journey and the making of India’s most multitalented cricketing superstar and captain.

Speaking of his experience of working with M.S.Dhoni for the TVC, Sushant Singh Rajput said“It was great to share screen space with MSD in my latest TVC for Kingfisher. It's a first for any brand to have us both together in the advertisement. While in the movie I play him, which was really special for me as an actor, we also came together to celebrate this very special moment when we were shooting for the Kingfisher commercial.”

Talking about his long-standing association with Kingfisher he added “This is my fourth TV commercial with Kingfisher, which reinforces the positioning of Kingfisher as the “Original social network”. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our camaraderie than to come together on-screen with the legend. I hope people enjoy seeing both of us together on screen as much as I did working with him”.

Speaking about the campaign,Arun Pandey, Chairman of Rhiti Group and the Producer of the MS Dhoni biopic saidSushant is the brand ambassador of Kingfisher while, MS has been associated with the brand through IPL associations. Watching both of them share the same screen space in a television commercial was a good idea to blur the lines between real and reel. I am sure MS's fans and followers will enjoy the video and will be excited to watch Sushant play Dhoni in the upcoming biopic which releases worldwide on 30 September."

Speaking of the campaign Samar Singh Sheikhawat, Senior Vice President, Marketing, UBL, said-“ At Kingfisher, we believe in celebrating the ‘Good Times’ and what better way to do that than to celebrate one of India’s most successful sportsman and captain – M.S. Dhoni. Sushant shares a close relationship with the brand, and when we saw the opportunity to bring him to share screen space with MSD, we didn’t want to let go of it”.
