Kraftly Ropes in Akshay Ghulati from Amazon as Chief Business Officer

Kraftly-a one of its kind, O2O mobile marketplace that targets micro and individual seller communities in India, has announced the appointment of its Chief Business Officer, Akshay Ghulati. Prior to this, he was the Head of Trade-In at Amazon,UK and previously worked in different roles in Amazon’s retail and marketplace businesses. Akshay also has prior experience with SMILE Group where he was overseeing various portfolio companies. Preceding to his shift to digital commerce, Akshay worked as a management consultant with The Parthenon Group and A.T. Kearney.

Akshay’s domain has spanned areas such as business growth, category leadership, product management and operations. Post his dual concentration at Wharton School, he was he was elected as the Member of South Asian Business Association, Real Estate Club and Venture Capital & Private Equity Club during his tenure at Harvard Business School.

Speaking on having Akshay join Kraftly, Saahil Goel, Co-Founder & CEO, Kraftly said, “We are excited to welcome Akshay to Kraftly. Akshay further adds, “We plan to focus on building Kraftly to be customer experience (CX) centric keeping contribution margins in mind. I see Kraftly extending revenue streams in future, disrupting the ecommerce space by having a distinct business model.”

Kraftly has created a platform for small seller communities, especially from Tier 2 & Tier 3 cities, to sell their products to a sizeable customer base. They provide a platform which simplifies online selling for ‘Homepreneurs’ and small businesses through their app and website. Today, Kraftly has over 10,000 shops & it adds over 12,000 listings per day.

With a vision to create ‘flea-commerce’ by bringing on-board the long tail of neighborhood entrepreneurs online, allowing them to fairly participate in e-commerce; Kraftly aims at having the widest catalog in the unstructured lifestyle categories and to enable the widest distribution for its sellers across all demand platforms.
