Lavazza and the world of tennis: shared values and a mutual passion

The sharing and conveying of shared values such as excellence and conviviality have created an enduring bond between Lavazza and great tennis.

It was at the 2011 Wimbledon tournament that the affinity between Lavazza and tennis reached a turning point with the launch of an official partnership. Over the years, the Lavazza Group has consolidated its position and demonstrated its passion for this sport to become the official coffee of all four Grand Slam tournaments.

“We are particularly proud to announce the renewal of our partnership with Roland-Garros, a legendary tournament that epitomises the values we share with the world of tennis. This renewal also confirms the mutual confidence that exists between our company and the French Tennis Federation," stated the Group's Vice Chairman Giuseppe Lavazza.

Roland-Garros certainly occupies an important position in the ranking of the four Grand Slam tournaments partnered by Lavazza. 2017 saw 400 baristas trained for the occasion serve as many as 402,219 coffees. Moreover, France is the Group’s second largest market after Italy, as well as the country where the first subsidiary was founded: a key country for Lavazza which, through this partnership, highlights the investment made in France, also outside the coffee market.

"The French Tennis Federation is proud to extend its partnership with Lavazza and we are delighted that Roland-Garros will continue to benefit from the expertise of the Italian brand with whom we share a number of values, including excellence and authenticity. Thanks to Lavazza, spectators will continue to enjoy the best coffee in the world as part of their Roland-Garros experience," said Guy Forget, the director of the Roland Garros tournament.
