Lead Actors Jon Hamm and Viola Davis walk away with Emmy's for their performances

Television’s most celebrated awards in English entertainment, the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards was showcased LIVE in India across the 4 Star channels, Star World, Star World HD, Star World Premiere HD and FX today morning from 5.30AM. If you’ve missed any of the action the encore is slotted for 8PM tonight.

Touted as television’s biggest night, the glamorous gala held annually witnessed the best names from the television fraternity walking the red carpet. From first time nominees to returning favorites each year, the best on prime television were rewarded. Viewers waited in anticipation, rooting for their favorite shows and actors to win the iconic Emmy award. 

Host, Andy Samberg started the evening with a hilarious act of interesting adaptations from all the shows which had everyone in splits and continued to keep the audience entertained through the show.

The live telecast featured awards in 26 categories, presented by an array of top talent and entertainers including Lady Gaga, Rob Lowe, Tina Fey, James Cordon, Jimmy Kimmel, Viola Davis, Gina Rodriguez and LL Cool J. For his performance in the hugely successful TV show ‘Mad Men’, Jon Hamm walked away with the award of the best Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Amidst an emotional speech, Viola Davis won the award of the best Lead Actress in a Drama Series for ‘How to Get Away with Murder’. In addition the other Star network shows that won Emmys this year include American Horror Story: Freakshow, Downton Abbey, Modern Family, The Simpsons, The Americans and Louie.

Keeping in mind the celebratory spirit, Star has also planned a treat for all its viewers. Star World will be showcasing Season 1 of How To Get Away With Murder on Star World Weekend Binge this weekend 12 pm onwards while Star World Premiere HD will air the new season of the show close to its international airing from 29th September, Tuesdays 10 PM. FX will showcase the critically acclaimed show Mad Men Season 7, entire season, all at one go on FX Top rated on 26th and 27th September, 12 noon onwards. 

The repeat telecast of the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will be showcased tonight at 8 pm on Star World, Star World HD, Star World Premiere HD and FX.
