Lenovo's soon going to launch new Web film #GiftThemDreams

When exam season looms close, the focus in every Indian household is on the child to only study and top their exams. Children across the country are under enormous amounts of pressure to end up studying for something that they do not even have a passion for. While most parents expect for their children to become doctors or engineers, children have an innate curiosity in them to learn something new and be something different. Parents sometimes fail to understand if the child is serious about a passion or being playful.

At Lenovo, keeping in mind our core value of #DifferentIsBetter, we wanted to try and open parent’s minds to realize that exams are not everything. As parents, they should aim to be able to fulfil and help their children achieve what they are passionate about and aspire to be. This gave birth to our idea - #GiftThemDreams. Through this campaign, Lenovo hopes to change the rigid mind sets of parents and convert them to instead be enablers of their children’s success.

Conceptualised by Ogilvy & Mather, Bangalore and directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni of Bloom Inc., the film tells the story of a young girl from a small town who has a passion for astronomy but she faces restrictions from her family in the pursuit of her dreams. Watch the film to see how her passion comes alive so strongly that her parents soon realize her capabilities and end up supporting her dreams.

The campaign is a digital film that connects with both children and their parents, and resonates with audiences, young and old alike.
