Let your furry friend help you find your pet-tential match

This May, the world’s most popular dating app, Tinder is launching a first of its kind Yappy Hour with Pets, as part of the recently launched IRL Tinder Mixers for singles, to celebrate our dogs being our ultimate dating partner. Tinder Mixers are curated IRL events for singles to discover something new or fun as well as interact with others who share similar interests or curiosity to be a part of such experiences

Dogs really do work their magic in helping single ‘hoomans’ charm their crush. Tinder members who feature their beloved pooch in their profile photos get their paws on 5% more matches. So it’s no surprise that 29%* of people admit that they’ve added a picture with a dog  to their dating profiles to improve their chances of success. It’s clear that dogs are loved by Tinder members with more than 15%* of the members including ‘dog lover’ as one of their Interests** on their Tinder profile. Answering singletons calls for shared experiences and providing a low-pressure way to make real world connections, this mixer, really is a win for all four paws.

Riddhi Diwan, a 24 year old pet parent of Donut the Shih Tzu, and Tinder member from Mumbai shares, “it's as simple as it can get - If my dog doesn't like you, I probably won't either! Matching with someone over a shared love for pets already makes them a little bit less of an unknown. Both me and my little bud cannot wait to turn some heads! Who knows, it might be love at first sniff for us!

To give more reasons for pet parents to go out with their furry pal, the Yappy Hour with Pets Mixer will be held on the 21st of May, from 3:00pm-6:00pm at Poco Loco, Khar, Mumbai. It won’t be a surprise if anyone ends up reliving their favorite stories about their furry friends with a fellow pet parent, which might turn into an icebreaker like no other.

If things couldn’t get any more fluffier (iykyk), as per Tinder’s Future of Dating report 2021, first dates are more about activities than icebreakers, and it's perfect for dog lovers to find a bae who vibes with them and their four legged friend. To celebrate these furry legged creatures and match on their shared love of animals, Tinder recently launched a dedicated place for its members ‘Animal Parents’ in Explore - Tinder’s hottest new venue where members can navigate potential connections through common interests and match with someone who loves animals just as much as you do!

Top Tips for a Dog Parent Date

Let your furry friends free: Give them their space to play around, and there is always a possibility that sparks fly with their new friend’s pet parent
Bring treats: Giving your date a treat to give to your dog can be a great way to introduce them and break the ice.
Bring a toy: If you know your dog gets restless bring their favorite toy. Nothing like an endless game of catch to test a match’s patience.
Dress up: Making an effort for your date is a given, and don’t forget to dress your four legged friend? Bring your dog’s best collar or favorite accessory, you never know who they might woof to!

What’s not to love about dogs being the best dating companion?!
