LFW - DHL bonding strong over the years!

DHL, the global market leader in the logistics industry, “The Logistics company for the world”, and also the Official Logistics Partner of Lakmé Fashion Week presented the two well known designers Masaba and Shivan-Narresh  on day 2 of the event.

Masaba who presented a glamorous sneak peek into her “Postcards from Benares” collection showcased a precedent of her bridal line inspired by the “Widows of Banaras” which will be launched in the winter of 2013. Whereas Shivan-Narresh showcased the glamorous 1950’s American holiday touch. Called “Zip”, the line by the top resort wear, the duo brought into limelight the artistic work of abstract expressionist Barnett Newman.

DHL announced their partnership with Lakme Fashion Week for the seventh consecutive year . Adgully caught up with RS Subramanian, Country Manager, DHL Express India to learn more about this association and how they consider this a perfect way to demonstrate their  capabilities in the complex and demanding nature of the fashion industry.
Explaining further about their partnership he said, “Over the years DHL has increased its presence and is now covering 220 countries and territories. It has become one the most trusted companies 

in the world.” “Proving its strong presence DHL has also proved itself to be a strong partner for garment manufacturers, wholesaler, retailers and designers, offering speedy, on-time, customized logistics solutions and access to international markets.

When asked about the sponsored designers, he said, “This season again we are very excited to present Shivan and Narresh as they are extremely talented and their collection is very chic and international. This year we will also be presenting Masaba Gupta, whose eclectic aesthetic taste is refreshing and exciting.”

Shivan  & Narresh is India’s first luxury swimwear brand that was launched in Cannes at ‘Mare di Moda’. The brand has a unique signature style that is bold, confident & sophisticated with flawless lines, stitch-free surfaces and an undisputed eye for detail. Shivan-Narresh said, "Trikinis, bikinis, maillots and tankinis were colour blocked with amazing construction. The elegant linen shifts hand painted in shades of cherry red, white and brown will make perfect beach attire. Red and white stripes were teamed with green for knotted gown or the zipper one.” Going slightly ethnic the designer duo had pre-stitched line of saris in colour blocked options often with striped insets. The final bikini sari was the perfect end to a fabulous line of resort and beach creations and that is sure to create a fashionable impact globally.

Parineeti Chopra walked the ramp for designer Masaba Gupta on day one of Lakme Fashion Week. The actor looked stunning in a long white jacket with black Masaba signature print and a bright hot pink 'dhoti' teamed with stylish gold jewellery which set the pace for the fusion silhouettes.. “Cape shirts with sharara pants, overlapped dress, shirt dress with embroidered net maxi skirt, a line up of petal skirts and palazzo pants gives a variety of options to the fashion conscious, " said  Masaba with regard to her collection at the LFW 13.
