LinkedIn launches new feature, along with testing Stories

‘Fair Chance’, a job filter is a new feature of LinkedIn along with, a new section on Profile called ‘Featured’.

Featured Section

To showcase the work samples, LinkedIn’s new feature section allows the users to add their best work.

Users can include the posts they’ve created, articles published, shareable media such as images, videos, etc on LinkedIn, add external links to their portfolio or blog.

Users can also edit, delete, or change the order of their work samples. However, deleting a work sample from the ‘Featured’ section will delete it permanently and you would not be able to retrieve it again.

Posts from LinkedIn Events that members are attending or groups that they’re a part of cannot be featured.

LinkedIn Stories

LinkedIn has come up with the new feature of stories, following the footsteps of other social media platforms

This feature was to help students to showcase their academic experiences like exhibitions, internships, fairs, projects and more.

Pete Davies, Senior Director of Product Management, LinkedIn told The Verge, members can use Stories to share “key moments from work events” or “tips and tricks that help us work smarter”.

Fair Chance

‘Fair Chance’ as the name suggests, it is a new job filter of LinkedIn to identify employers that consider applicants with a criminal record.

Job seekers, with criminal records who to restart their professional careers can gain a second opportunity.

The feature would also create more opportunities for both parts of the professional community – employers and job seekers.
