Looking for the perfect Diwali gift for your loved ones? ‘Paytm karo’, says the brand’s new digital ad film

Widely known for its endearing ad campaigns and unique marketing initiatives, Paytm has proved yet again that it knows how to make its way into the hearts of Indian consumers. With its latest digital ad film for Diwali, India’s largest mobile payment and commerce platform has reiterated how Paytm Cash is the perfect gift this festive season. The ad campaign is for online and digital media broadcast.

Through a narrative that humorously depicts an average Indian household, the film captures the hearts of viewers to drive home the flexibility, convenience and safety that Paytm Cash offers.

On the launch of the campaign, Shankar Nath, Senior Vice President – Paytm said, “The festive season is a great time for a family to come together and express their love and gratitude for each other. We wanted to leverage this popularity to highlight how Paytm Cash is emerging as the preferred gifting option across the country.”

The trend of sending gift money via Paytm has picked up since this year’s Eid and has continued into Raksha Bandhan, Diwali and Bhai Dooj. With this ad film, the company is aiming to enhance consumer propensity to think of Paytm Cash as the ideal and most thoughtful gift this festive season.

The film opens with a young couple greeting their friends on Diwali when the boy’s parents walk in. They look impressed with the way the house has been decorated with lights (which are a bit too bright!). While the mother gifts the couple a traditional box of sweets, the father instantly transfers Rs.2001 into the Paytm Wallet of his son. On getting the notification, the son expresses his surprise and the father adds with a hearty laugh, “Yeh Bijli ka Bill Tera Baap Bharega?” (Will your father pay for the electricity bill for all these decorations?).

The film concludes with the tagline, “Iss Diwali gift main thoda thought bharo, Paytm karo.” The key message of the film is that there’s hardly a gift as thoughtful as Paytm Cash since the recipient can use it the way he/she likes.
