Mad Men Premiere - The Charismatic Ad Gurus of the 1960s make their way to FX!

A time machine straight to the 1960s, Mad Men is considered one of the most transcendent period dramas of all time. The award-winning series not only won hearts but world-wide recognition and acclaim. Now, the show that is considered as the bible for everything that the 60s stood for, is all set to premiere on FX, India’s edgy entertainment channel.

The Mad Men of the advertising field in 60s America will make their way to television screens on Friday, January 29th at 11 PM on FX and FX HD starting off their journey on the channel with the show’s unmatchable first season. One of the most seductively stylish shows on television ever, season one introduces audiences to the mad, mad world of advertising set in the ego-driven golden age of Madison Avenue where everyone is selling something and nothing is what it seems. The following seasons then continue a compelling saga of how the characters’ lives, both professional and personal, progress.

Enter, Don Draper, played by Jon Hamm – the central character of the show with the most charming and suave personality on television, a man who makes brooding the new sexy! Jon Hamm has even bagged the Best Actor in a Television Series – Drama for his role in Mad Men at the recently concluded Golden Globes award ceremony on 10th Jan 2016. He previously won the same award in 2008. The charming creative director at leading advertising firm Sterling Cooper triumphs and crashes amidst personal dramas as he juggles his job, his wife, his affairs and kids throughout the series. Mysterious and brusque, Don quickly became the guy with shades of grey, one of the best etched grey anti-hero characters on television.

Amidst the drama are other vivid characters with distinct personalities that reflect the various aspects of the advertising world who make ‘going retro’ cool again. Characters like Peggy, Joan, Roger, Pete, Paul and many more who work with Don at Sterling Cooper along with his wife Betty showcase their ambitious, sexy, jealous, power-hungry sides at regular intervals replicating the facets of the advertising world back in 1960s America. Some of the only characters in television history who are a hundred percent consistent in their behaviour throughout the series, ‘Mad Men' seamlessly intertwines ambitions, scandals, greed, love, the downfall and upheaval of the advertising era serving as a bridge to a faded and now forbidden world of the 60s.

Mad Men has won over 50 awards winning prestigious accolades like the Golden Globe, Primetime Emmy, Screen Actors Guild, Peabody and more for its exceptional work!
