Magicbricks NOW looks at breakeven in 4 months

Magicbricks NOW, the new channel from Times Network urges audiences to ‘Be Un-cofused’ about Real Estate & Property market. The channel on a test run right now and would start commercial beaming from November one. The Real Estate & Property channel from Times Network, takes its name from its anchor sponsor ‘Magicbricks.com, which also happens to be a group company under Times Internet.

Hiranandani Developers, Mantri Devlopers, Lotus Greens are other key sponsors on board.

MK Anand, MD and CEO, Times Network expressed, “This is an off-shoot of the Times NOW and ET NOW news factory that we have in-house, which is instrumental in producing India’s number one general and business news channel.

Content on the channel has been decided based on in-depth research in multiple cities. Though the channel would have a pan India presence both on DTH and cable platforms, in the initial stages, it intends encompassing cities like Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata. It would also cover interesting and useful information from tier II and tier III cities.

Channel with end consumer as its key target group, would be a holistic RE and property channel and would cover everything: Property and RE News, key happenings, public grievances, advice and information about channels & advertisers. The shows would also cover infrastructure, legal, tax, finance and other issues impacting various stake holders in the domain. Ancillary services like home improvement, interiors and vastu too would find a presence on the channel. The channel plans to have four to five hours of fresh content every day. An interesting component of the channel is that it would offer different content for their viewers in different cities. The channel plans to have offering that would be beneficial for all the stakeholders of the sector.

Content on the channel would be managed by a young and vibrant team. Faye D’Souza is the Editor for Magicbricks NOW, while Arnab Goswami would play a guiding role. Key anchors on the channel are Kavita Krishnan and Kishan Kumar

Magicbricks NOW plans to commence its marketing blitzkrieg post Diwali. While it would extensively use ET Now and Times Now as well as the group print publications to promote itself, it also plans to use Hindi GEC and ambient media for deeper penetration. Creative on the account is Publicis. Total marketing expenses for the launch year are pegged at around Rs 22 crore.

The channel expects a break even in 3 to 4 months and states that 60% of its inventory is already booked.
