Man-Utd, Gulf Oil go global in second edition of ‘Gulf Fan Academy'
After a stupendous 1st season of the #GulfFanAcademy in India, Gulf Oil India and Manchester United are gearing up for Season 2, which is now going global, aiming to connect with Manchester United fans across 60 countries!
The #GulfFanAcademy is a digital platform co-created by Gulf Oil India and Manchester United FC to celebrate what being a crazy Red Devils fan is all about. The Academy is a space for their fans to engage and connect with their favourite Man Utd players. The second season is bigger, better and bolder than ever. The second season has 4 challenges and a collection of engaging content featuring the most popular Man Utd players including Pogba, David de Gea and Sanchez. Some of these challenges will also go on-ground to get up-close and personal with the ManUtd Fans. These challenges are designed to be easy and fun, enabling ManUtd fans across the globe to seek for a chance to win all-expenses paid trip to Old Trafford as they watch a home match live in the Theatre of Dreams. To build more excitement around season 2, the Academy has come up with a special launch video for the Manchester United fans across the globe.
Talking about the #GulfFanAcademy’ s 2nd edition going global, Ravi Chawla, Managing Director, Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited said, “We received a massive response from Indian Manchester United fans last year and it spurred us to go global this time. In the first edition, we managed to reach out to 70 million people through our integrated campaign. This Season, we have packaged it on a grander scale with 11 of the biggest Man Utd fans from India getting a chance to travel to Old Trafford to see a live match of ManUtd ”
Season 1 of the #GulfFanAcademy, a pan India activity, curated a collection of challenges and digital content across last year EPL season to become a roaring success. This kept the Fan Academy trending on social media, with the launch trending at no.1 on Twitter for 3 days & YouTube for an entire week. Apart from this, the entire #GulfFanAcademy recorded 800k unique engagements and a reach of 70 Million! Finally, there were totally 9 super fans who made the trip to Old Trafford to watch ManUtd live with Swansea.
