ManipalCigna Health Insurance launches new digital campaign

ManipalCigna Health Insurance Company Limited, has unveiled today a new digital brand campaign “Health ke saath, Health Insurance Zaroori Hai” to encourage people to gain a greater sense of control over their physical and financial health.

The campaign features three educative videos where we see health conscious people in their daily fitness routine – from going to the gym, doing meditation to going on morning walks. While they all are working to keep themselves physically healthy, the campaign highlights the case of an unexpected injury, illness or infectious disease, and how health insurance plays an important role during such medical contingency to take care of increasing medical expenses and protect the wealth of individuals.

In the last five years alone, we know the world has faced dreaded viruses such as Ebola, Zika, Mers (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome), Nipah, and now the recent outbreak of Coronavirus - Covid-19.  As deadly viruses spread around the world, the costs associated with testing and treatment for the virus are weighing on patients who are underinsured or uninsured. Therefore, it is important to be prepared in advance by insuring yourself and family with a comprehensive health insurance policy to cover expenses incurred on treatments arising out of such viral infections.

ManipalCigna’s flagship product - ProHealth Insurance,  that has been voted as a winner at the ‘Product of the Year 2019′ covers medical expenses incurred on in-patient hospitalization up to the sum insured, pre and post hospitalization coverage, immediate OPD expenses coverage, Restoration of Sum Insured and Ambulance expenses arising due to coronavirus or similar such diseases.

Speaking on the campaign, Prasun Sikdar, MD & CEO, ManipalCigna Health Insurance said, “Our new digitally-led campaign is built on the consumer belief  that people are health-wise infallible – not likely to fall sick, and that maintaining a healthy lifestyle and staying active was all they needed to stay fit and healthy. However, the truth of the matter, is that while healthy habits do play an important role on keeping certain ailments at bay, there are some unforeseen situations like the recent outbreak of Coronavirus that can still occur and will require hospitalization, despite all the proactive efforts taken to be healthy. Based on this consumer insight is the thought of ‘Health Ke Saath, Health Insurance Zaroori Hai.’ Our three films perfectly encapsulates stories of people facing a worrying dilemma of unavoidable health situation and reinforces the fact that along with healthy habits, health insurance in essential to safeguard long-term financial goals, enjoy lifetime access to quality health care, and to live a healthier life.”

Sapna Desai, Head – Marketing and Communications, ManipalCigna Health Insurance said, “Several studies reveal that in India personal saving is the source of health care financing, with over 62% of healthcare expenditure being out of pocket. Also, due to rising medical costs around 5% of the population are forced below the poverty line every year. Therefore, in the era of rising medical cost and a greater propensity of falling prey to medical ailments or viral infections, I believe Health Ke Saath, Health Insurance Zaroori Hai more important than ever before to prepare for uncertain illnesses in the future and enhance the financial well-being.”

Thus, inspired by real life customer stories, the three newly launched 20 seconds videos talk about people becoming increasingly aware of the importance of healthy lifestyle, but still there exist the unavoidable and unpredictable conditions that can financially drain the family in case of a medical emergency. The First video signifies that going to the gym will help a person to stay fit but cannot avoid a slip-disk injury. The Second video showcases that meditation can save one from hypertension but not from dengue/ malaria. The Third video make people aware of the fact that everyday morning walks cannot protect an individual from dust or infection related diseases. Overall the films amplify the importance of having a trusted health insurance partner who goes above and beyond to help customers in times of both illness and wellness.

Besides the new digital films, the company also plans to roll out advertisements on digital and social media along with influencer outreach program to drive awareness among people of the importance of making the right choices for your health and for your financial well-being.
