Market Research Society of India appoints its first ever official media spokesperson

India’s revered and renowned association of Market Researchers, The Market Research Society of India (MRSI) held its 28th Annual general Meeting at MCA Mumbai. The report on the activities for 2015-16 was presented. The key plans for next couple of years announced were:

  1. Decision to develop a new Socio Economic Classification framework was announced.
  2. A buyer seller meeting for MRSI members to have data and analytics related technology providers pitch their products and services to them to be held in July 2016
  3. Mr Raj Sharma, Managing Committee member was appointed as the Media Spokesperson for the society.

Honoured with the appointment, Mr Raj Sharma, said, “It’s is a great privilege to be appointed as MRSI’s first Media Representative. Our endeavor at MRSI is to ensure highest standards of professionalism for the industry and to provide a platform for the industry to showcase their innovation.”

Mr Sanjoy Datta President MRSI, speaking at the occasion said  “Last few years has seen a rapid change in the way people buy products and services and how they get information about brands. In this context it is important to ensure that there is an up to date classification system which will allow brand owners to target their consumers more accurately.”

Commenting on the first ever appointment of Media Spokesperson, Mr Datta said “Media today plays a very important role in shaping opinions in the society and hence to ensure that Market Research as a profession is viewed in the correct light, it is important to have a clear communication channel with the media. Mr Raj Sharma has considerable experience both as a researcher and in interacting with the media and is therefore an ideal person for this role”
