Media ABBYs: Mindshare is Media Agency of the Year; Grand Prix for Lodestar UM

Mindshare put up a strong show at the Media ABBYs 2022 as Goafest returned after a hiatus of two years. The agency was adjudged Media Agency of the Year, winning a total of 19 metals. Mindshare’s tally included 8 Gold ABBYs.

Lodestar UM walked away with the Grand Prix for their campaign done for Mumbai Police – ‘The Punishing Signal’. The agency won a total of 8 metals, including four Gold ABBYs.

Three-day Goafest 2022 got underway today (May 5, 2022). As the sun went down on Day 1, it was time for the presentation of the first of the ABBY Awards – Publisher and Media ABBYs. This year also marks Goafest’s 15th edition. Marking it as a special year, it is the first time ever that the Abby Awards have collaborated with The One Show.

A total of 87 Media ABBYs were awarded tonight. For Media ABBYs, 21 Gold, 28 Silver, and 37 Bronze were awarded. Media ABBYs comprised of three broad categories:

  • Use of Media
  • Specialist Categories
  • South Asia Category (excluding India) Special Award

Publisher ABBYs

Bennett Coleman & Company Ltd has been adjudged Publisher of the Year, winning 5 metals, including 1 Gold and 4 Bronze ABBYs. FCB Group India’s tally included 2 Golds and 1 Certificate of Merit.

The other Gold winners in Publisher ABBYs were HT Media, which won for ‘Hindustan Times - Newspaper as a Collectable’ in the Best client-brand activation or display advertising innovation by a publisher sub-category; and Cheil India for its work, ‘#UncoverTheEpic: Samsung x Nat Geo Traveller’ in the Best use of Native or Branded Content for client brand-marketing by a publisher sub-category.
