Memesys' award-winning streak continues at AdFest & Spikes Asia Awards 2022

Memesys Culture Lab’s award-winning streak continues with multiple wins at the prestigious ADFEST 2022 and Spikes Asia Awards 2022, including the honour of being named the Production Company of the Year at this year’s edition of the ADFEST awards.

Director Anand Gandhi's film Vicks: Care Lives On #TouchOfCare won a total of eight awards across a range of categories announced at the ADFEST 2022 Virtual Awards held on April 7. The awards include three Golds for Direction and Casting in the Film Craft Lotus and for Resilience through Creativity in Digital Lotus category, three Silvers for Script and Resilience through Creativity in Film Craft Lotus and for Viral VDO in Digital Lotus, and a Bronze for Resilience through Creativity under the Branded Entertainment Lotus category.

The film also bagged four awards—most by an Indian film—at Spikes Asia 2022, announced early March. With a Silver in Direction, and Bronze in Casting, Script and Cinematography, the film has made waves this award season.

The film tells the inspiring story of Dr Dnyaneshwar Bhosale—a visionary who moved into the heart of the country with a singular dream of building a state-of-the-art hospital for those who could least afford it. The stirring narrative of Anand’s film is not only critically acclaimed but is loved by audiences worldwide, with over 40 million views online.

While speaking about the film, Film Director and ADFEST 2022 jury-member, Young-wook Paik said, “‘Care Lives On’ is a campaign that doesn't feel like a campaign… It was one of those few campaigns that tucked at your heart… and that takes talent for the director. Kudos to the actors for their part, for making us feel that it's real, and giving us a truly touching spot.”

Continuing an illustrious run of awards for Anand Gandhi and Memesys, the recent recognitions come at the back of several high-impact narrative brand films—Vicks: One In a Million (4 Cannes Lions and 3 Silvers at Spikes Asia), Lifebuoy Help a Child Reach 5 (1 Cannes Lion, 2 Spikes Asia), Gillette - Soldiers Can Cry (Shortlist at Cannes 2020).

“The idea of continuity, not just through your children but through your purpose and intentions, deeply resonated with me. It was a privilege to make an inspiring film about an inspiring man,” said Shreya Dudheria, the producer of the film, about the legacy of Dr Bhosale.

Producer Zain Memon, speaking about the subject and reception of the film, said, "Dr Bhosale’s story is deeply inspiring. His work and love for humanity had touched countless lives and participating in telling it is a privilege." On what the award means, he added, “Telling a moving story is fulfilling, but to have it appreciated by juries, critics, and audiences worldwide, gives us the belief to continue finding newer, more engaging ways to tell such beautiful, inspiring, stories.”
