Meta set to decide on Trump's return to Facebook

Facebook owner Meta Inc is yet to announce whether it will allow former US President Donald Trump back on to Facebook and Instagram. The social media giant previously said it would make a decision by January 7, 2023.
The decision regarding whether to allow the former president to return to the platform is expected to be announced this month.
According to reports, Meta has set up a working group to focus on the issue, including representatives from its public policy and communications teams, along with its content policy team.
The development comes after Elon Musk, Twitter's new owner, revoked a permanent Trump ban on the social media platform in November last year following a polling among the users.
Trump maintained that he had no interest in returning to Twitter.
Since he lost the 2020 election, Trump has relentlessly attacked the integrity of US elections and launched a bid to regain the presidency in 2024 to pre-empt potential Republican opponents.
