Meta upgrades Whatsapp privacy rules

In the last few days, WhatsApp has added additional privacy features to its app, allowing you to speak without worrying about stalkers. Users can already hide their last seen and online behaviours from everyone or from persons who aren't on their contact list in the chat app. However, you may be startled to learn that certain apps may track your WhatsApp activity, which the new privacy protections prevent.

All WhatsApp contacts, including corporate accounts, can now use new privacy features, "making it tougher for individuals you don't know and haven't communicated with to view your last seen and online presence on WhatsApp."

These new privacy options, which impact who can see or not view a user's online status, are designed to work automatically, unlike many other WhatsApp features that can be turned on and off by users.
