Meyebela - ‘Embracing the essence of womanhood’

Every one of us grew up with a preconceived notion that women are the biggest enemy of the other women around them. There is an underlying perception prevalent in society which states that women are continuously competing against each other. They purposely defame each other to feel better about themselves. This atrocious relationship becomes more intense when the mother-in-law and the daughter-in-law are concerned. Breaking away from the shackles of these invisible stereotypes of mother – daughter, mother-in-law & daughter-in-law and in between every woman living under one roof, Star Jalsha is launching Meyebela which glorifies the genuine friendship and celebrates the emotional and psychological dependence between the women of the house.

This show will also witness the comeback of the veteran actor Rupa Ganguly in television screen. Rupa Ganguly won millions of hearts with her role as Draupadi in Mahabharat and has also played versatile roles in films like Antarmahal, Abar Aranye, and Bariwali. Rupa Ganguly plays the character of Bithika in this show, who was a versatile woman in her younger days but was unable to follow her passions after her marriage. She is now the mother-in-law of the household and the entire story revolves around her. The central plot of Meyebela spins around the lives of Bithika, Mohona played by Swikriti Majumder and Nirjhar played by Arpan Ghoshal. The storyline progresses as Bithika's daughter-in-law resonates with her pain instead of turning bitter towards her. Mohona has a tough upbringing because her mother remarried after her father passed away when she was a child. Fate pairs her up with Bithika, who also experienced great suffering. Despite all the obstacles, Mohona is determined to win over her mother-in-law. The story progresses as both become acquainted while living under one roof as mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.

Meyebela is Produced by Surinder Films, which has created iconic shows like Kiranmala, Mahapeeth Tarapeeth, Ekhane Akash Neel, Nazar, Bhakter Bhagaban Shri Krishna, Srikrishnabhakto Meera in the past.

Speaking on this occasion, the channel spokesperson said," We are extremely proud to present Meyebela where Rupa Ganguly is making her comeback. We promise our audience for an emotional roller coaster ride as the storyline will change the perspective of the audience and they will witness the blooming relationship of a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. The show will place a voice of reasons before the viewers. It will also make an argument for perspectives and will encourage the viewers to try and put themselves in the other person’s shoes and think.”

Watch Meyebela from 23rd January onwards, Mon-Sun at 7:30 pm only on Star Jalsha SD and Star Jalsha HD.
