MG Motor India honors women #NotJustForaDay

Why just one day? MG Motor India announces a new campaign to highlight women’s day to be celebrated #NotJustForaDay. In the automobile industry where men outnumber women, MG Motor has been consciously taking steps to counter gender bias and have a more inclusive workforce. Further to the roll out of 50000th Hector by an all women crew, the campaign rolls out a digital film and activation celebrating women every day. MG Motor aims at encouraging people to raise powerful women who can choose their life as they grow up. The campaign film is live across digital platforms.

Conceptualised by Cheil India, the new campaign film #NotJustForaDay puts the spotlight on the women at MG Motor. MG Women are at the forefront of the brand. From encouraging them since the beginning of their career at MG, to getting them to make the cars, the women at MG are supported and empowered. At MG Motor, women’s day runs through the year with the only difference being that it is done through actions more than mere words. The recent example being unveiling of 50000th Hector by an all women crew. As part of the activation, MG Motor undertook a street art activity with mural art on the wall of a school in Connaught Place in Delhi. The art depicts women from all walks of life who have made a mark in this world.

Speaking about the campaign, Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer and Senior Vice President (CCO), MG Motor India, said, “Diversity has always been one of the key pillars for MG right since inception. Our various initiatives whether it is creating more jobs for females on the shop floor, a dedicated women’s hostel that was set up during Covid times, or the encouragement given to female talent every day at the workplace - are all a testimony to our commitment towards gender diversity which now stands at 33% in our company. As a progressive brand, going forward, we aim to take the number of females in the company to 50%.”

“We are very excited about this new campaign for MG Motor. We truly believe that women should be celebrated every day and #NotJustForaDay. During our partnership with MG, we have always seen them working for an equal future. With this campaign, we have taken a small step towards making a difference.” added, Sanjeev Jasani, COO Cheil India.
