MG Parameswaran turns entrepreneur with Brand Building
MG ‘Ambi’ Parameswaran has launched Brand Building, a brand advisory firm that aims to be a conduit for coaching and mentoring on a whole range of branding subjects, including Brand Strategy, Marketing Communication Strategy, Start-up Advisory, Brand Management Coaching, Preparation of Brand Plans, etc.
Parameswaran made the launch announcement on Facebook on Thursday, April 14, 2016, where he had posted: “Wishing all of you Poila Baisakh, Puthandu, Bihu, Vishu and Ashtami! May the new year bring you a great deal of happiness and joy to your life. I am starting a new chapter today and seek all your best wishes!”
Prior to this, he had served as an Advisor to FCB Ulka Advertising. His term at the agency concluded in March 2016. He had been with the agency for over 20 years and was CEO & Executive Director.
As per the website, www.brand-building.com, the advisory services would span:
Brand Strategy: Developing brand strategies, including planning the market mapping programme, brand development, marketing planning and marketing execution.
Marketing Communication Strategy: Helping in the development of the marketing communication programme, including strategies for Integrated Marketing Communication, copy platform, media strategy, media investments and monitoring progress.
Mentoring and Coaching: Helping improve the Marketing Quotient of brand marketing teams through a series of interventions including training programs, monthly interactions, and guiding the marketing plan and implementation process.
Start-up Advisory: Helping young start-ups identify the right business segment to tap and put in place a monitoring system to study progress.
Brand-Building.com is in the process of building a set of experts who can be sought for special inputs on projects on a need to use basis. These include a host of academicians like Gauri Chaudhry, K Dasaratharaman, VS Sitaram, Vasant Nangia, as well as Parmeswaran’s former colleague from FCB Ulka, Kavita Gadkari. The website informed that this list would be expanded.
Parameswaran has over 35 years of experience in a marketing, sales and advertising in companies such as Rediffusion Y&R Advertising, Boots Company, UDI Yellow Pages and FCB Ulka Advertising. He has been involved in the building of brands such as Tata Indica, Santoor, TCS, Digene, Tropicana, Sundrop, Zee TV, Tata Indigo, Sunfeast, Chandrika, Brufen, Wipro, and Thermax, among others. He has spent over two decades with FCB Ulka Advertising Mumbai – from 2003 to 2013. He had served as the CEO & Executive Director and then served as Advisor from 2013 to 2016.
