MIB to review C-Band allocation plan

The ministry of information and broadcasting is likely to begin to review the government's plan to reserve the C-Band of radio frequencies for 5G and 6G use, according to officials.
It will be for the first time that such a review will be conducted by the government, according to a ministry official.
Broadcasting associations such as the IBDF wanted the government to desist from auctioning spectrum in the C-band (3,700-4,200 MHz) because it is also used for by broadcasters.
According to the IBDF, allotting C-band for other services will have an adverse effect on the broadcasting segment as the terrestrial transmissions can interfere with the satellite signals.
