Microsoft brightens up this festive season with new Lumia devices

MicrosoftDevices launched in India the recently unveiledLumia 830and Lumia 730 Dual SIM smartphones running the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, bringing industry-leading imaging technology to more affordable price levels. The company also announced the sales start of the much awaited Lumia 930 in India, plus the Lumia Denim update, which brings extra features and enhancements to existing Lumia smartphones.

Lumia 830: Our new flagship at an accessible price: Combining a premium design, superior PureView imaging and integrated Microsoft services, Lumia 830 makes high-end innovation available to more people at a pocket friendly price. The Lumia 830 captures high-quality images and videos, day or night, with a 10-megapixel PureView camera with ZEISS optics, the new Living Images innovation, Rich Recording and the thinnest Optical Image Stabilization system to date on a Lumia at 8.5 mm thin and 150 gm. It delivers the best of Microsoft with pre-loaded Microsoft Office Mobile; the latest version of Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim; and OneDrive with 15 GB of free storage, allowing content to be synced and shared easily.  Lumia 830 will be available in India starting October 8, 2014, at a best buy price of INR 28,799/-  in a range of colours including bright orange, white and black.

All three devices will come with an additional 1 Terabyte of cloud storage on OneDrive, free for the first 6 months and chargeable thereafter at a minimal INR 125/- per month

The Microsoft Screen-Sharing for Lumia Phones HD-10 lets people beam any content from their smartphone to an HDMI-enabled screen, easily and without content restriction - be it photos, videos, music, premium streaming movies, games, and internet. With the smooth mirroring of everything on the phone on to a big screen, it can also be used for work. With a simple tap, people can work with documents and presentations and share them with a group. It will be available in India in before Diwali, at an MRP of INR 5,999/-.

Lumia continues to get even better with the Lumia Denim update

Lumia Denim combines the latest Windows Phone 8.1 update with exclusive experiencesfor Lumia smartphones. The new update will come with –·Live folders. Organize and further personalize the home screen easily. Simply press, hold, and drag an app over another app to create a new folder on the Start screen.Rename folders by tapping on a field above an open folder, and rearrange tiles inside a folder for greater personalization.

Mobile Web Site improvements in IE. Connect and browse even faster with improved downloading speeds on mobile websites.

Consumer VPN. Maintain privacy and security when using data while connected to public Wi-Fi hotspots or even to home Wi-Fi. Lumia Denim will be available on both Lumia 830 and Lumia 730 at sales start while it will roll out as an over-the-air update to all the other Lumia smartphones in Q4, 2014.
