Microsoft to invest $10 billion in ChatGPT

Microsoft is planning to invest $10 billion in OpenAI, the leading artificial intelligence research lab which has come up with the popular Artificial Intelligence app that has caught the attention of common men as well as AI buffs, according to Semafor.
ChatGPT has been the latest talk of the town. It is a natural language processing model, which enables users to generate text that looks like a human has written it.
Though an official word about the deal is yet come, the deal, part of a funding round with a slew of other investors, would value OpenAI at $29 billion.
By investing in OpenAI, Microsfot is positioning itself to leverage the power of the AI revolution. Like other tech giants, Microsoft is also eyeing the power of AI big time as the tech giant is well aware that those companies that can control the technology will wield immense advantage in the years to come.
Microsoft will get to work with OpenAI in coming up with the technology on Microsoft Cloud, which invariably will place Microsoft at the “forefront of the most important consumer technology over the next decade,” according to the Reeds.
“That’s a huge coup for Microsoft, especially considering Google, a rival, has helped pioneer some of the technology used by OpenAI. Microsoft was also in talks to incorporate some of those features into its other programs, like Word and Outlook email,” The Information reported.
