Mimicry Ke Superstars cracks up 700+ audience in the debut season

To mark the occasion of World Laughter Day, 7 finalists went head to head at the Grand Finale of Mimicry Ke Superstars, a live digital talent show organised jointly by India’s leading entertainment ticketing platform, Paytm Insider and talent management company, Truly Comical. Sidhant Lama from Siliguri won the Season 1 edition of the show with the highest score received by judge Leading Mimicry artist - VIP and the live audience votes. Paytm Insider and Truly Comical have announced a second season of the show and audition entries are already pouring in from mimicry artists around India.

‘Mimicry Ke Superstars’ a digital talent hunt was open to both professionals and amateurs, the auditions were sold out within a few days. 7 Finalists were selected to perform in the finale held on 3rd May. Over 700 viewers tuned into the Paytm Insider app to laugh and cheer hard. Audiences were given a chance to vote live via the app on the performances. 

Shreyas Srinivasan, CEO Paytm Insider says, “It was promising to receive such an overwhelming response from both participants and viewers. The event, unlike traditional live streams, was not one-directional, viewers could vote in real-time and show appreciation to the participants. The voice of the audience was an equal vote when it came to choosing the winner. Our belief that shared digital experiences allow hidden talents from smaller cities like Meerut, Ajmer and Indore a chance to shine has been reinforced, and we look forward to introducing more formats like this.”

People from all over India tuned in for a completely new digital experience, where viewers, participants, judge VIP and even the host, Siddharth Kanan, joined the show from their homes for this one of a kind online experience.

While Sidhant Lama from Siliguri secured the first place, winning the grand prize worth ₹25,000, the second and third position holders; Ankit Sisodiya from Indore and Samarth Rohila from Chandigarh, won ₹10,000 and ₹5,000 respectively.

Sidhant Lama, Winner, It has been a great experience for me. Comedy and mimicry have always been my true passion, I am thrilled to be able to share this with others. It was an honour to perform in front of VIP Sir, Manoj Sir and Siddharth Kannan Sir.
