Ministers Anurag Thakur and Amit Shah launch Swaraj

A serial titled Swaraj – Bharat Ke Swatantrata Sangram ki Samagra Gatha was launched at Akashwani Bhawan by L. Murugan, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting (I&B) and Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, along with Mayank Agarwal, CEO of Prasar Bharati, Apurva Chandra, Secretary of I&B.
In his remarks on the occasion, Union Minister Anurag Thakur noted that All India Radio and Doordarshan had done an admirable job of resurrecting the brave tales of more than 550 freedom warriors and facilitating the association of the newer generations with these unsung heroes.
The minister stated that it aims to reimagine the idea of Swaraj’s original vision and tell the tales of the individuals who helped turn it into reality.
The serial is a representation of how proud we are of these historical figures. In order to bring these tales of our independence struggle to life, the minister remarked that extensive study had gone into producing the serial. Information and papers had been gathered from every corner of the nation. Amit Shah remembered the time when legends like Ustal Bismillah Khan and Pandit Jasraj claimed that they would not have existed if it weren’t for Akashwani when discussing the role played by the public broadcaster. Without Doordarshan and All India Radio, he said that India’s expression of its essence cannot be conveyed. The minister discussed the significance of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, stating that it is not only a celebration of our freedom struggle but also of the accomplishments of the past 75 years since the time of independence and of the sacrifices that the sung and the unsung heroes made during the freedom struggle. He continued: “This is also a period when we are imagining the shapes of India’s future, and India will only go on to achieve greater heights of brilliance from here.”
Swaraj is a complex idea, and Amit Shah elaborated on it, saying that it goes beyond the concept of self-rule. India hasn’t really succeeded until we can embrace this all-encompassing concept of swaraj, which involves owning our own languages and own culture. Swaraj is the process of ruling the country in our own particular way. It will be crucial to protect our languages, and our historical heritage, and share our culture with the next generation in this centenary year.
The minister praised the diligent work of the serial’s production team. He claimed that historically, colonial powers were far behind India in terms of culture, wealth and governance, but that a false narrative about India had been established, leading to a sense of inferiority among the populace. According to him, the serial Swaraj will erase all notions of inferiority from the national population’s collective conscience.
Several Members of Parliament, senior ministry officials, representatives from Doordarshan and All India Radio News were present.
According to Mayank Agarwal, Prasar Bharati’s Chief Executive Officer, the series would be aired on both AIR and Doordarshan. Agarwal expressed his appreciation for the production crew for their thorough investigation and diligence in creating this serial.
