MMA'S Smarties Participant Entries Almost Double Up from the Previous Year

The Mobile Marketing Association’s (MMA) Smarties Awards, the world’s only global mobile marketing awards program that honours innovation, creativity and success in the field of mobile marketing and advertising is back.

This year the Smarties has received an overwhelming response and has seen a 41% increase in participation, 22% of which are from new entrants belonging to the niche segment creative agency, social media agency, mobile marketing agency and mobile search specialists.

Today, marketers are increasingly looking to build their mobile initiatives across channels, with the technology boom and growing prominence of mobile campaigns there has been a surge of creative thinkers and innovative solutions.

Apart from the Big 5, there has also been an advent of newer entrants (the mobile-specific agency) in this space, led by very young entrepreneurs, who understand the nuances of change  and  have led mobile marketing and advertising to become one of the most compelling, accurate and inclusive marketing practice today.

The Smarties offers an opportunity to all these creative thinkers to gain worldwide recognition and be counted amongst the best in the mobile marketing community. With 21 categories, Smarties 2015 covers every aspect of mobile marketing and advertising.

Speaking on the Smarties, Preeti Desai, Country Manager (India), MMA, says “We have received great response for the Smarties this year, almost double the amount from what was seen last year as submissions continue for another few days.

We have also extended the deadline by a few more days especially to support the new entrants and are sure that this platform will only grow bigger. We hope that this is a natural progression as Mobile expertise is about looking at the world from a "mobile best perspective across the consumer journey" and the "the mobile-too" approach is over.

We are looking forward to reviewing the entries and are excited to showcase the innovative solutions and success stories of the past year.”
