Mo Mantra crafts an innovative campaign to stop child labor

Article 24 of India’s Constitution prohibits child labor. Various laws and the Indian penal code, such as the Juvenile justice (Care and protestation) of children Act -2000, and the child labor (Prohibition and Abolition) Act- 1986 provide a basis in law to identify, prosecute and stop child labor in India. You might have heard of this periodically but when was the last time you took a thoughtful step towards it?

We are stuck in our 9 to 5 lifestyle so efficiently that we can read and write articles on stop child labor but when it comes to action we all are torpid. There are people who are fighting against child labor by helping children and imparting education among that part of society from where majority of the child labor comes.

Most of the time we think that children work because of their survival and that of their families depend on it. The problem is not that there is child labor, but the ignorance of child labor. I am not saying child labor can be vanished with just one magical wand but taking small yet effective measure which can help to remove child labor from the society. India has the highest number of child laborers in the world of which 86% do not receive any education.

When children are employed they are exploited and abused. It affects their heath as well as overall development. Which is quite equitant to when a woman gets raped or a men gets mental harassment.
Let’s stop putting fingers on each other and start giving pen and papers to the young soul of India.
