MOVIES NOW begins its festive offerings with Avatar!

MOVIES NOW, one of India’s leading English Movie Channel is all set to entertain the viewers with the best hits this festive season. The opening of this will be done by Avatar, directed by James Cameron, which promises a cinematic experience with its unique, charismatic and overwhelming characterisation & path-breaking technology. The biggest blockbuster ever made comes to the audiences on August 15, 2012 at 12:00 noon and 9:00 pm on MOVIES NOW.

Looking at the biggies of English genre films in their kitty, Adgully caught with, Ajay Trigunayat, CEO, English Entertainment Channels, Times Television Network and learnt that the idea behind the whole step is very simple - get more eyeballs on the 9pm slot! He said, “MOVIES NOW has always delivered the best movies since its launch and we have consequently got best results, because of which we are No.1 in the genre and in the 11 pm slot as well.”

The channel’s focus has always been on 11 pm slot but now the thought is to strengthen the 9 pm slot which till date has not been focused on much. He said, “We have garnered the best results in the 11 pm slot but 9pm slot is something where we have not got a good amount of viewership. So therefore we have shifted our 11pm properties to the 9pm slot from July onwards.” Hence, movies like Harry Porter  and some more were taken live at the 9pm slot. Also ‘Planet Action’; an action-packed, dynamic property which started off from 1st august, was  also  introduced in the 9pm slot. Also i
n the month of August movies like Shrek 1, Shrek 2, Shrek3 were taken live under the entity  ‘Your’s Truely Shrek’, at 9pm.

With a smart sense of marketing, MOVIES NOW has gone that extra mile to give its viewers a real experience of Avatar as the Na’vis take over. Adding on this, Trigunayat said, “The campaign is very well visible on the digital and the outdoor medium.”

Trigunayat told us that big properties will continue month after month but they have three big properties for the month of September. Elaborating on this he said, "Spiderman 3 would be one which will be aired on 22nd September and for the first time in the English entertainment viewing market on full HD, then towards the end of September the channel is bringing back, after a long span of 18 months, one of the most viewed and liked action film series, Rocky1,2,3,4,5 and 6 which will start on 27th September with two ‘Rocky’ sequels back to back and the third property for the month of September is the ‘Lord of the Rings’, the promos of which are expected to create a buzz."

He also told us that there will be three main channel promos for the movie, ‘The Lord of Rings’. “This is for the month of September and we have more to come in October ,” he added. So, looking keenly into the situation, the channel has geared up for the festive season.

The channel has focused on the digital natives for a long time and it seems their marketing team has worked hard in putting together their social and digital media strategy which is why without any doubt, MOVIES NOW leads the digital space with 12,735 followers on Twitter and with over 1.7 million fans on Facebook.

The channel has been very upbeat about the marketing and promotion of the movie Avatar with a clear  focus on the outdoor where they have done impactful 3-D illusion layout which provide an ecstatic life-like simulation and bring alive the experience of Avatar in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta, Bangalore and Chennai.

On the advertising and marketing front, over the year many advertisers have been associated with the channel like Sony, HP Computers, HCL, SuKam, Subway, Kerela Tourism, Jockey, Daawat Basmati Rice to name a few. The channel is also reaching out the youngsters across 50 Café Coffee Day outlets and 19 PVR Cinemas through innovative branding. Viewers can also catch a glimpse of the digital innovative campaign on www.facebook.com/moviesnow where Hollywood has turned into Na’vi Land!

Well! Trigunayat seemed quite upbeat for the upcoming festive season as they bring many more interesting movies to woo the audience.
