Movies NOW & MNX brings the Indian TV Premiere of ‘Gretel & Hansel’

Bringing the best of Hollywood and the most anticipated movie titles to television viewers in India, Movies NOW and MNX are set to keep viewers on the edge of their seats this weekend with the upcoming Indian television premiere of the dark fantasy horror, ‘Gretel and Hansel' on Sunday, August 8th, 2021 at 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM. An adaptation of the German folklore tale "Hansel and Gretel" by The Brothers Grimm, the movie ‘Gretel and Hansel' released in 2020 is reminiscent of the audiences' childhood memories albeit with a twist as this noir version focuses on Gretel and her discovery of her powers.

Directed by Oz Perkins and produced by Fred Berger, 'Gretel & Hansel' is a coming-of-age movie that offers nothing short of a nightmarish encounter. Reinventing a familiar fairy-tale in a contemporary context, the film shows determining sequences in Gretel's journey towards freedom and self-discovery. An unconventional, brave, and feisty character, Gretel fights against the evil that curses her land. Starring Alice Krige, Sophia Lillis, and Sam Leakey among others, ‘Gretel and Hansel' is a grim fairy-tale full of dark magic and witchery!
