MSM Motion Pictures partners with Contiloe to bring "Darr @The Mall"

MSM Motion Pictures and Contiloe Entertainment is all set to make mall-hopping a scary experience for audiences with their upcoming horror flick ‘Darr@ The Mall’, which stars Jimmy Shergill, Nushrat Bharucha, Arif Zakaria, Asif Basra, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Shraddha Kaul, Neeraj Sood and other actors.

This film has been shot across various malls in Mumbai. The film is a first of its kind Bollywood film, which has chosen a mall as the backdrop for a horror story.

Talking about the film, NP Singh, COO, Multi Screen Media Pvt. Ltd. says, “MSM Motion Pictures is making films that will be driven by content. DARR @ The Mall is an attempt in the Horror genre. It’s great to be associated with Contiloe entertainment that brings in years of expertise of working on Horror as a genre on television. Pavan Kirpalani known for his direction of “Ragini MMS” has been roped in for directing this scary experience in a mall. With DARR@ Mall, which will then be followed with YOUNGISTAN and MANGO, we at MSM Motion pictures plan to create varied but entertaining films.”

Abhimanyu Singh, CEO, Contiloe Entertainment Ltd says, “I have always been intrigued by the supernatural genre, which is underexploited in our country. Surely, there have been some fantastic films such as Mahal, Woh kaun thi, Bhoot and Ragini MMS, but they have just been a handful in the large number of films produced in our country. We have done 12 years of successful horror on television and it is an interesting challenge to make this genre on celluloid.”

Adds, Director Pavan Kirpalani (who made his directorial debut with the highly successful ‘Ragini MMS’) says, “Malls are very accessible and are full of people having a great time. No one can ever imagine that there could be a dark side of these “Happy malls’. Through this film, we bring out a story of a mall which unleashes its evil side on a few unfortunate people trapped behind in the mall.”

Jimmy Shergill, who plays the protagonist, a mall security head in the film, says, “I usually enjoy watching horror flicks or films with any kind of thriller element and when this script came to me, I was so engrossed in it because of the detailing that I simply could not turn it down. This is the kind of film that has never been attempted before in Bollywood.”
