MTS announces leadership appointments in Karnataka & UP West Circles

Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) that provides telecom services under the “MTS” brand with 10 million wireless customers today announced key leadership appointments in Karnataka and UP West circles. While Umesh Durve has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Karnataka Circle, Siraj Abbasi will take charge of the Company’s business in UP West circle. The two new appointments will further strengthen the circle leadership team at MTS India. Both Siraj Abbasi and  Umesh Durve will report directly to Dmitry Shukov, CEO, MTS India.

Umesh Durve has over 23 years of industry experience with expertise in Sales and Distribution, product marketing and market plan execution. He has diversified experience in FMCG, Automobile and Telecom industry. Prior to joining MTS India, Umesh was associated with Bharti Airtel Ltd as Vice President of Market Operations. Umesh has a proven track record of increasing revenues, establishing networks, streamlining workflow and creating a work environment that enhances productivity.

Siraj Abbasi has over 20 years of experience in Sales, Distribution Management, Business Development, Channel Management, Key Account Management and Team Management in Telecom and FMCG industries. Siraj is known for developing strong business relationships with customers and has experience in managing large accounts and territories. Siraj’s last assignment was with Reliance Communications, Lucknow as Circle Business Head, UP - East where he was driving the data revenues for his region and was responsible for setting up exclusive distributor network for EVDO devices.
