Music helps Zee climb high on India First campaign

Music speaks one language ” Peace. Its healing touch is universal ” transcending all divisive borders, man-made or natural ” to touch a chord in every heart.

With this thought in mind, maestros extended their whole-hearted support to drive Zee News' "India First' initiative on a musical high in a special curtain raiser concert held at Azaad Bhawan, ICCR, in New Delhi. The initiative is Zee News and the Ustad Mushtaq Ali Khan Centre for Culture's attempt at promoting Unity, Progress and Prosperity in India through the platform of music and culture.

The evening was an enriching experience with renowned Shehnai maestro Pandit Daya Shankar and distinguished Sitar expert Pandit Prateek Chaudhari performing for the first time together on stage in a unique and special Jugalbandi, accompanied by the Tabla whiz of the country, Ustad Akram Khan. The musical soiree was a heavenly experience, one that the audience isn't likely to forget soon.

The evening grew even richer with ace Kathak artist Pandit Birju Maharaj who enlivened the concert with his exclusive memories in Moments with the Kathak Legend ” a conversation with the exponent.

All the music legends praised Zee News' campaign and mooted the need to develop music and culture as the one strong medium to develop greater amity between the communities and thereby forge one strong nation.
