MyParichay partners with Shine.com; Launches FB connection based job board

Job Seekers can now find their close friends, acquaintances, high school, college friends and alumni in a company to help them with their job search.

India’s largest professional network on Facebook™, MyParichay™ (www.myparichay.in) and India’s leading job portal Shine.com today announced a revolutionary solution that enables Shine.com users to make their job search easier. Using their online network of Facebook contacts, job seekers can now get their foot in the door or an interview with a potential employer and expand their professional network on Facebook.

This product is part of suite of products that allows job seekers and employers harness the power of social media in their job search and talent acquisition strategies. According to a 2012 Job Seeker Study1; 60 percent of job seekers in India are only on Facebook and more than one-in-three (36%) believe over 25% of their Facebook contacts can help them with their career progression. On the employer side, 66 percent of employers reported they want to increase their investment in social media and Facebook to recruit potential job candidates.

One of the main benefits of the MyParichay Social Bar™ is that Shine.comusers are able to see which of their Facebook friends and friends of friends work in the company that posted the open job on Shine.com. Once they have this information they can forward their resume to these connections and increase their chances of getting an interview. On average, a network of 200 Facebook friends translates to 30,000 professional connections through Shine’s MyParichay Social Bar™. Recruiters, in turn, use Shine and MyParichay™ to promote jobs and source talent that is not found on LinkedInTM or active on Naukri.com.

"MyParichay™ is committed to make job search easier for young professionals and helping people leverage the power of their Facebook network to develop fulfilling careers," said Ranjan Sinha, Co-founder and Chairman of MyParichay™.

"This is a great partnership that brings traditional and social technology into a unified experience to over 60 million Facebook users in prime hiring age in India. In a highly competitive job market Shine job seekers are able to getthe critical inside connection into a company and forward their resume with a single click providing an unprecedented advantage” said Amit Garg, Business Head of Internet Business, HT Media (which owns Shine.com).
