Nagin effect: Colors back at Number 2 slot!

Ratings for the top three GEC channels have seldom been as close to each other, as they are in week 48 (November 28- December 04, 2015) of BARC ratings. The interesting change this week, however, has been that Colors and Zee Anmol have swapped places though both have seen a marginal increase in ratings.

Star Plus continues ruling the Hindi GEC charts. With a negligible drop in ratings from 813084 to 796378, it was still able to hold its slot firmly. Unlike week 47, Colors emerges as No. 2 in the list with ratings of 763601 as against 713600 last week. The rise in ratings can be attributed to its entertaining shows like Bigg Boss and Nagin. Zee Anmol slipped to No. 3 slot with ratings of 756154. Zee TV remained at No. 4 with increase of 7% in its ratings. (Week 48: 677344 as against Week 47: 632511). Star Utsav maintained its slot of No. 5 and Life OK also remained at No. 6 with increase in ratings from 457560 to 516234. Sony TV and Sony Sab stayed strong in their respective slots of being No. 7 and No. 8. Sony Pal made its FTA segment proud with escalation in ratings from 315559 to 366535. Rishtey at No. 10 did not witness any major changes in its ratings.

Star Plus’ Saath Nibhana Saathiya which always continued to be most watched show is in for a surprise.  Colors’ Nagin replaced this flagship show of Star Plus and emerged as most watched Hindi show.  Saath Nibhana Saathiya slipped to No. 2 slot with ratings of 17293. Kumkum Bhagya at No. 3 did not throw many surprises.
