National Geographic's new show: Race Against The Pandemic

The world has changed dramatically in the last three months since the World Health Organization declared the outbreak of the novel coronavirus a pandemic on March 11, 2020. What started as a disease limited to China, has now spread to over 200 countries and territories. While the precise origin of COVID-19 remains a mystery, the bigger question that arises in every mind is how the novel coronavirus brought the world to a halt. National Geographic, with its authentic and immersive storytelling, presents the viewer with the complex science behind the novel coronavirus in its upcoming one-hour titled CORONAVIRUS: RACE AGAINST THE PANDEMIC. Highlighting the journey of the virus through the world, the documentary offers a unique biological and physiological perspective on the COVID-19 pandemic. The documentary is scheduled to premiere on 12th June at 10 PM on National Geographic. 

 The special spotlights expert testimonies and on-the-ground insights from the frontline defense against the virus. The documentary features scientists, experts, and officials from WHO throwing light on the science behind the mutation of the coronavirus, its transmission from animals and the development of vaccines to halt its relentless spread. It is a deep dive into multiple aspects of the disease - how the human body reacts when it first experiences COVID-19 and the role of immunity involved in battling the disease. The documentary documents how billions of lives across the globe have been affected by the pandemic and the efforts that India, among multiple countries, is making to fight it.

 The documentary titled CORONAVIRUS: RACE AGAINST THE PANDEMIC, which will premiere on National Geographic on Friday, 12th June 2020 at 10 pm and will bring forth interesting expert perspectives on understanding this novel virus, its potential threat and the secrets of putting an end to it.
