National Restaurant Association of India's Mumbai meet-up has techies asking for more

National Restaurant Association of India’s Mumbai meet-up has techies asking for more that the horizon for greater technology integration is nearer than ever is the key message at the (NRAI) first ever meet-up with the food tech sector.

“Technology is essential to how & what we do and we cannot escape that. We see the tech companies as partners in our future, one where we have to develop together,” said Riyaaz Amlani, president, NRAI.

Mr. Ankit Mehrotra, Co-Founder, Dineout said “TechIt by NRAI brought together key stakeholders from technology and the F&B industry on a single platform today. Dineout has committed to support this initiative for all the TechIt chapters, and as the pioneers of Table Reservation and Restaurant Technology in India, it is our responsibility to expand the eco-system together.

Mumbai is a key market for us, and we have invested a lot of time and manpower here. This TechIt, we shared our open-platform full-stack restaurant management solution, inResto, with the F&B Industry. The response was overwhelming, and we are looking forward to the event in Delhi.

inResto provides the restaurant operators with a one-stop-solution to the challenges of understanding the customer behaviour, easing the table management process, attending feedback, marketing special offers and a cloud based CRM platform. What we essentially do is remove the dependence of a restaurant on any one-single-solution provider, by opening up a wide ecosystem of players for any business, thereby ensuring that they are never at risk. With a strong focus on real-time service support and continuous product updates we are here to ensure that the restaurants can be at complete peace.” concluded Mr. Mehrotra.

“We are entering into the restaurant payment space as we wanted to give more options to 25 million customers where they can use their Mobikwik wallet currency which will in return open an extra revenue stream for our restaurant partners" said Abhishek Chandra, Associate Director,  Business Dev.

The NRAI TechIt is an unique event where new tech companies were invited to present to a houseful of restaurateur and foodservice owners. 20 companies, each with their special value offering to this growing industry, engaged directly with owners as part of the event’s theme of ‘adoption’, the need to try out and accept tech to improve profitability in this challenging business.

The NRAI TechIt was attended by the best in Mumbai’s restaurant’s business with big names such as Rahul Leekha of Di Bella Coffee; Mihir Desai, Corum Hospitality; Vicky Ratnani, celebrity chef; Rahul Mehta, F&B Asia and Pooja Dhingra, Le15 Patisserie.

The event has highlighted the following three essential topics:

1.     Customer focus

2.     New revenue areas

3.     Efficient operations

4.     … and maybe a fourth, ‘Money Men’, where we ask top VC’s WHY they funded foodtech.
