NDTV Good Times parts ways with Kingfisher

The kingfisher bird logo is no longer part of NDTV Good Times channel. The advertising contract that the lifestyle channel had with Vijay Mallya’s UB Group ended on March 31, 2016, following which the kingfisher bird logo was pulled off air from April 1, 2016.

According to a source close to the development, NDTV Good Times is in talks with other advertisers and the channel would sport a new branding in the next few months. Whether or not the ‘Good Times’ name is continued with would depend on the new association, the source added.

It may be recalled that NDTV Good Times had formed the alliance with UB Group in 2007 initially for a period of five years, which was later extended by three years. As part of the association, Mallya was to spend around Rs 100 crore over these five years.

NDTV Good Times decided not to renew the contract with UB Group after it expired on March 31 this year.
