Neeraj Attri joins ETV News as Head, Sales & Marketing

Neeraj Attri former business head of The Sandesh Limited has joined ETV as Head- Sales and Marketing of the company’s upcoming Gujarati 24x7 news channel. With this appointment effective 18th March 2014, Attri now based in Ahmedabad, will  supervise the overall revenue growth at the national level and promote other news channels of the network in his region. In his new role he will be reporting to Jagdeesh Chandra -Head ETV News Network, an ex IAS officer who took VRS in 2008 to join the group.

While confirming this latest development to Adgully he said, "I would like to share with you that I have joined ETV (TV 18 Group) as Head -Sales & Marketing . ETV is launching 24 x 7 Gujarati news channel very soon. I will be based out of Ahmedabad and look after National sales & marketing for the upcoming news channel."

The channel is scheduled to be launched on 30th April 2014 and is expected to kick off its marketing and promotion two weeks prior to the launch. 

Attri has 15 years experience across Media industry and has worked in the domain of Print, OOH media sales and marketing & also in electronic media. Earlier in his career he has worked with Navbharat Group as Manager Sales in Mumbai, Aishwarya Publications- Manager-Advertising, and Sambhaav Media Ltd -National Head-Sales & Marketing (Mumbai & Ahmedabad).  His last stint was at The Sandesh Limited as Business Head (Gujarat).

Speaking about the potential the Gujarat market has for the channel, he said, "The ad market for Gujarati news channels is set to expand. There will be a conversion from print to TV news channels in Gujarat. This is what has happened in other regional markets as well. Compared to the markets in Bengal and Maharashtra, Gujarat is at a very nascent stage. But there is scope for growth here, only the right strategy has to be implemented."

The ETV Group is launching 5 new 24x7 news channels – ETV Gujarati, ETV Bangla, ETV Kannada, ETV Odia, ETV Haryana & Himachal. With their latest move the channel aims to focus on the four main cities of Gujarat viz. Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara which are turning into mini metros. The spending capacity in these cities is increasing steadily and there is a high possibility that advertisers will want to capture this market.

ETV has a bouquet of 12 regional channels: ETV Telugu, ETV2, ETV Bangla, ETV Marathi, ETV Kannada, ETV Odia, ETV Gujarati, ETV Urdu, ETV Uttar Pradesh, ETV Rajasthan, ETV Bihar and ETV Madhya Pradesh.
