Neeraj Chopra and top Indian shuttlers in action on Sports18 this week

India’s Olympic hero Neeraj Chopra will look to continue his domination when he competes at the Wanda Diamond League at BAUHAUS-Galan in Stockholm, Sweden, later this week. He started this season with a national record-breaking 89.30m throw at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku, Finland, which fetched him a silver. This was followed by a gold medal at the Kuortane Games in Finland, beating reigning world champion Anderson Peters of Grenada. 

Meanwhile, Indian shuttlers will be in action at the BWF Malaysia Open 2022 – Super 750, including Saina Nehwal, P.V. Sindhu, H.S. Prannoy, Sameer Verma and Sai Praneeth B., amongst others. Sindhu is the only seeded Indian player in the singles event and will start her campaign against Thailand’s unseeded Pornpawee Chochuwong. Meanwhile, Prannoy, who had a good run in the Indonesia Open 2022, will begin against Malaysia’s Liew Daren in the first round.
