Netflix vandalises its own OOH to promote 'Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein'

Netflix India's latest web series, 'Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein,' was vandalised and plastered across billboards around the country.

The series stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, and Anchal Singh and tells the narrative of a guy who goes to extremes to avoid the unrequited love of a politician's daughter. The three actors in the commercials illustrate the poison.

Dipashree Das, Netflix's content and brand marketing manager, stated on LinkedIn and Facebook regarding the out-of-home campaign,

“Not all love stories are made simple. Some are simply twisted. Like our latest series Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein on Netflix. We wanted to convey that through our OOH placements. So we did the unthinkable. We vandalised our own OOH, across the top cities. (Yes you heard that right!) Why? Because, we stalk, we obsess, we wait, we plot, we do many things in love, because it's all justified. To us. Love is irrational, it defies logic, rhyme or reason. Purva's character waited 15 years, 8 months, 7 days to be with Vikrant, the man she loved. So, what's a little vandalism, right?”

She further added, “We could tell you more, or you could just watch Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein now streaming on Netflix, to know why we did what we did!
PS: We got so many calls of people worriedly telling us our placements had been vandalised. That's the exact "twisted" response we'd been looking for.”
