Network18 and Microsoft launches Indian Elections App!

The race is on to choose the people and leaders who will govern the world’s largest democracy. This year’s elections will see the people of India rise and make their voices heard by casting their ballot on voting day. To help you navigate through the many layers and levels of information, Microsoft and Network18 join hands to bring you an app created exclusively for the 2014 General elections. India Elections 2014 is a Windows Phone app powered by IBNLive.com and Bing that makes understanding complex data very easy.

Using this app on your Windows smartphone, you can search for information on political parties, candidates and constituencies. The app also brings you Live TV to keep track of election updates as they happen. You can participate in daily opinion polls and register your opinion on important issues using the app. The app brings all the relevant information to users in an array of formats such as interactive visualizations, thus making it easier to make sense of the data. In addition, it also allows users to connect with leaders from various political parties on Twitter and see the kind of work being done by them as far as campaigning and manifestos are concerned.

Further, you can get customised content including curated news, photos and videos once you set your constituency on the app. The app also reminds you go out and vote with a ‘Save the Date’ function.

CNN-IBN, IBN7, IBNLive.com, Firstpost.com & Microsoft have collaborated for this unique innovation.
