Never in my life have I acted like a shy, ordinary girl: Mahima Gupta

Mahima Gupta is an actor, model and a social media influencer with more than 110k followers. She has previously acted in ALTBalaji’s ‘Gandi Baat 2’, and now will be seen in EORTV'S ‘I Love Us 3’. Gupta had debuted in the movie, ‘The Cage of Life’, written and directed by Prabhu Rathod. She has acted in the web series ‘Charamsukh’ on the Ullu TV app. Gupta has also acted in ‘Tijju Bhai’ (2022), ‘The Cage of Life’ (2020) and ‘Raktanchal’ (2020).

In a video interaction with Adgully, Mahima Gupta speaks about what is unique about her upcoming show ‘I Love Us’, her experience working with EORTV, projects in the pipeline, and more.

What is different about the storyline of ‘I Love Us’ that made you decide to be a part of the show?

People will be inspired to be authentic, unique, and true to themselves by this story of ‘I Love Us’. It is quite acceptable and natural for a girl to like another girl. What I appreciate about EORTV’s show is that it depicts the LGBTQ community’s realities. People will benefit from watching this show and be able to firmly accept themselves.

What kind of similarities can you draw between you and your character?

I identify strongly with this character named Ankur. She exudes an athletic, masculine demeanor. The way we speak is practically the same. Never in my life have I acted like a shy, ordinary girl.

Therefore, developing this character requires almost no effort. I am introducing myself on the screen.

How was your experience working with EORTV?

Too good! They constantly present fresh narratives. I have previously received offers for projects similar to this. However, I lacked the confidence to portray that on screen. After that, I met the EORTV directors, who had such a distinct vision. I am grateful for the chance to work with them, and I hope to do so again in the future.

What are your upcoming projects?

I am making my way toward in the South movie industry. I also worked on a Telugu film. I want to play every type of role because I am an actor. So, I am willing to work with the scripts that have been provided to me.

What is the message that you want to give to your audience?

I urge you to love us abundantly so that we can become very huge. Whatever we choose to do is irrelevant. The audience’s satisfaction with us is what matters. Support us if you can, so that we can keep bringing you fresh, new content.
