2019 was the year of the new kids on the block. Social media being one of the main channels, many new faces locked deals with brands to further reach out to their followers. While the brand gets a new set of audience to be known to, these brand ambassadors certainly made their presence known. Of course the money involved is always a plus! Here are some new faces 2019 saw in the form of first time brand ambassadors.

Ananya Pandey

Post debuting in Student Of The Year 2 in 2019 and also starring in the remake of the 1978 film, Pati Patni Aur Woh; Ananya Pandey became one of the favourites for brands trying to reach out to the new age audience. Dutee Chand

Dutee Chand is the current national champion in Women's 100 metres event and has won multiple medals for India accross major global events.  Apart from this, she is also the first Indian athlete to openly come out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Her accolades and her fearless and bold stance definitely makes her a role model for many young Indians. Something brands will definitely look to leverage. Signing for Puma and being featured in the Propah Lady ad along side Mary Kom and Sara Ali Khan is definitely a boost to her presence being known.

Hima Das

Himas Das holds the current Indian National Record in 400 metres with a timing of 50.79s. She was given the Arjuna Award in 2018 and is also the first Indian gold medal winner at a track event in the IAAF Under 20 World Championship. Big highlights for her in realm of endorsements were signing deals with PepsiCo for Gatorade and Adidas.

 

 Kartik Aryan

The first of just two guys on this list, Kartik really broke out when it came to endorsements this year. Known for his chocolate boy image, Aryan became the poster boy for brands this year and signed deals with Manyavar, Engage Deo Sprays and Veet for men.

Bhuvan Bham

Bhuvan Bham has grown tremendously over the years into a Youtube mega star. He was the first Indian individual content creator to cross 10 million subscribers and his hilarous series called BB Ki Vines made people all over the country fall in love with him. Apart from this, he has been featured on shows of other comedians, has made songs and toured across the country. In 2019 Bhuvan Bam bagged endorsements deals with Pizza Hut and Lenskart as both these brands targeted the youth through their campaigns

While we see the rise of these new faces in the ad world, it will be interesting to see how brands use the accredits of these new faces to their benefit. With the youth factor being a common link between all the ambassadors mentioned above, brands can really find a way to tap into the GenZ sector if they haven't already! Also as you can see, it has been a great year for the women of the industry as they bagged most of the endorsements especially when you look at brands targeting the youth through their messaging. 2020 is bound to see more endorsements and new ways to reach out to the youth of this country
