New York Times to cut jobs
The New York Times is to lay off at least 100 jobs in its newsroom. The prestigious newspaper in the US is facing the heat of global meltdown and there is steep drop in advertising and readership.
The decision was announced recently and newsroom staff was asked to apply for a voluntary buyout package
According to the reports, this is not the first time that the newspaper giant has laid off people; the paper slashed a number of newsroom jobs in 2008 as well.
