Celebrating the 75 years of Independence, News 18 organized ‘Amrit Ratna’ samman to honor individuals, who with their path-breaking accomplishments have contributed immensely to the India’s development. The prestigious honor was presented at a grand ceremony held at the Taj Palace, New Delhi. The channel aims to establish the Amrit Ratna Samman as an annual celebration of the achievements of Indian icons across different fields who made the country proud, and an occasion to express the nation’s gratitude towards these stalwarts.

The event was brightened by the presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, where he discussed various policies introduced during his tenure. He said, “When Modi Ji gave me the responsibility, it was an emotional moment for me as my father had also held this position once. I am committed to work with utmost integrity. We all know that corona pandemic affected the aviation industry but the way we have recovered under the leadership of Modi Ji is really commendable. We are all set to give 2 more airlines to our citizens, where one is a brand new airlines and the other is getting revamped.”

Speaking on the technical fault in the planes, Union Minister Scindia said that strict action has been taken against those. We are strengthening our monitoring mechanism giving more emphasis on safety measures. For the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the safety of passengers is paramount. Under the UDAN scheme, 2 lakh flights took off and many people got a chance to travel, who had never travelled in an airplane.

On being questioned on the current Congress crisis, Jyotiraditya Scindia refused to comment on the political upheaval. He said he will only talk about his present and future. Why Congress is getting weak, it will have to think about it.

On asking about the loss of BJP in Gwalior seatJyotiraditya Scindia said about the defeat of BJP in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh civic elections, defeat and victory are two aspects of life. If you accept victory, you should also accept defeat. We had to face difficulties in many municipal corporations in Madhya Pradesh. We will analyze it. He said that he does not aspire for the post. They are trying their best to do the work that they have got. On the question of leaving Congress for the post, he said that I had taken that step for self-respect and not for the post.

Taking the event ceremony ahead, Union Minister for Heavy Industries, Mahendra Nath Pandey was called for a discussion on the ongoing political turn of events in the country. On being asked on the Uttar Pradesh Yogi Model, he stated, “There is equal respect for all classes in UP, bulldozer runs only on land mafia. There is no compromise with criminals in UP. In the Yogi model, there is respect for all classes, only the land mafia runs on bulldozers, common people should not be afraid of it”.

On Owaisi's statement questioning the administration of showering flowers on Kanwariyas, Mahendra Nath Pandey said, "If someone is tired of doing padyatra, like the general public comes to his service, if a police officer applied ointment on the wounds of Kanwariyas, then that's good. In the earlier governments, the leaders and ministers used to get the shoes lifted from the officers. Respect for Kanwariyas is respect for citizens. The system is also seen in the programs of other religions. There is no appeasement of any kind.”

Jammu & Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha joined the event through video conference. He said that on August 5, 2019, Parliament made a new system for Jammu and Kashmir, whose benefits are being given to the people of the state. A new era of development has started in Jammu and Kashmir. We have completed more than 50 thousand projects in Jammu and Kashmir. Today 20 km of road is being built in the state every day. 7 new medical colleges are being built under the Modi government. New AIIMS are being built.

On being asked regarding the development of J&K, he informed, “The state has received proposals for investment of 56000 crores in the last 1 year. Since independence till one year ago, the total private investment in Jammu and Kashmir was 14 thousand crores. We implemented a new industrial policy in the state with the help of the central government. Since then, the state has received proposals for investment of 56000 crores. Out of this, investments worth more than 38000 crores have been approved. When Prime Minister Modi came to Palli village in Jammu and Kashmir in April, a ground breaking ceremony was also held.”

Speaking on the attacks on the migrants and Kashmiri Pandits, he further added, "Sporadic incidents definitely happened, due to which an attempt was made to spoil the atmosphere." The security system in Jammu and Kashmir has improved under Modi ji. GST collection has increased. Investment is coming. Bandhs and stone pelting have become a matter of history. Jammu and Kashmir is on the path of development. This thing is not being digested by the enemies of the country. So they try to spoil the atmosphere. There are no big terrorists left here. Earlier the terrorists used to declare which organization they are associated with, now they are afraid that they will not be able to escape, the army will kill them.”

In another session, Union Cabinet Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Bhupendra Yadav was invited on the stage. Speaking on the ease of doing business and compliances he said that before the new wage code came, if someone tried to run an industry, then 15,000 laws had to be taken care of. But we have provided ease of doing business. We initiated boards on Social Security, health benefits and others, so that facilities can be made available easily. Earlier there were more than 15000 compliances. We reduced it to 22, so that an environment of giving and doing employment is created. Implemented equal pay for women and men.

Speaking on the policy bit, Bhupendra Yadav said, “More than 90 percent of the workers work in the unorganized sector. The biggest challenge was to collect data. We started e-shram scheme and we have registered more than 28 crore people who have also been provided free insurance. In the new law that our government has brought, the unorganized people will get equal benefits as the people of the organized sector. We also have an air quality monitoring committee to check the pollution coming out of industries. This committee search for measures to keep the pollution on check.”
