Nikhil Madhok quits Life OK as Business Head & General Manager

Nikhil Madhok, Business Head and General Manager, Life OK, has put in his papers. It is learnt that Madhok’s exit was announced internally at Star India today. His next destination is not known.

Madhok had joined Star India in December 2011 as Senior Vice President Marketing & Programming Strategy. He had conceived, planned and executed the entire 360-degree launch of Star India’s most ambitious show of the decade – ‘Satyamev Jayate’. He had supervised the digital media campaign for the show, which created unprecedented buzz across all social media platforms and broke all digital benchmarks. The social media strategy made it the first Indian show to trend worldwide No. 1. He also led the conception and execution of another iconic show – ‘Mahabharat’.

In September 2015, Madhok was elevated to the role of Business Head of Star India’s second Hindi general entertainment channel, Life OK. He has been responsible for leading the development and creation of all content on Life OK, along with marketing, communicating and positioning of the channel brand and individual content pieces.

Prior to Star India, he had been with Turner Broadcasting and Senior Director Marketing, where he was leading a team of 20 across on-air promotions, marketing, PR and presentation to create, conceive and execute marketing campaigns for launch of new shows and sustenance of existing shows.

He has also worked with Hindustan Unilever for almost six years.

Madhok has over 16 years of experience in General Management, Brand Management and Sales for leading brands with a national and global footprint. He has led cross-functional international teams to deliver brand mixes across the globe.
